Privacy notice
Last updated 2 October 2026
I am Aslam Sarfraz, a freelance engineer based in Pakistan, and this site is aslamsarfraz.dev. This page explains what the site collects and who else handles that data. If anything is unclear, write to contact@aslamsarfraz.dev.
What the site collects, and why
Analytics
I use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people read and whether the site works for them. It records the pages you view, your approximate location, and your device and browser, and it sets cookies. For visitors in the EU, the UK, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, analytics stays off until you press Accept in the cookie notice. Elsewhere it starts on, and you can press Decline at any time.
Advertising measurement
The Meta (Facebook) pixel measures how advertising performs. It is not loaded at all until you press Accept. If you decline, or ignore the notice, no Meta code runs.
Booking a call
The calendar on the home page is provided by Cal.com and loads when you scroll near it. What you enter there, including your name, email and the time you choose, goes to Cal.com and is covered by their privacy policy.
Contact messages
The contact form sends your message to my inbox through Web3Forms. If the form is unavailable, the page opens your email app instead. I use what you send to reply to you.
What stays in your browser
The site remembers your light or dark theme and your cookie choice in your browser's local storage. It also uses session storage so that a menu link such as About scrolls the home page to the right section. None of this is sent to me.
Hosting and other services
The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request details, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The database schema tool loads its diagram library (Mermaid) from the jsDelivr CDN, so your browser contacts that service when you use the tool.
The developer tools
The developer tools run in your browser. Text, files, tokens and schemas that you paste or open are processed on your device and are not sent to my servers.
MacLenz
The MacLenz app keeps its data on your Mac and has no accounts, servers or analytics. This site can record that a download link was clicked, through the analytics described above, but it knows nothing about what you do inside the app.
Your choices and rights
You can change your cookie choice at any time.
You can also block cookies in your browser settings. You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how it is used, by emailing contact@aslamsarfraz.dev. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.
